Root Canals are the last attempt to save the natural tooth. When a tooth becomes severely decayed, decay can break through the hard shell called enamel entering into the under structure of the tooth (called dentin).

Once the decay gets into dentin, that’s when decay can travel to the nerve (the pulp of the tooth) to cause Infection. When this happens a root canal is necessary to remove the necrotic pulp and place a filler to restore your natural tooth.

This procedure is not as bad as you think; people tend to associate root canals with pain. Sometimes when you need a root canal symptoms don’t occur until you feel pain.

However, getting this procedure is so effective to get done, and so easy to alleviate your pain (before it gets worse).

We want to give your tooth a saving chance to be preserved and restored.

• One or two appointments
• Radiographs
• A restorative procedure to preserve the tooth above the gum line

It’s important for a patient to get a full mouth set of x-rays every 3 to 5 years. That way the doctors can check the nerve of each tooth to ensure it’s health. We monitor the roots, so a root canal is only needed when necessary.
